Saturday, October 10, 2015, Minisink Hose will celebrate our 120th year. We will hold our first Inspection and Open House. We invite Officials and the Public to come and see the Unionville Fire Department and our capabilities and equipment.
0900 - Reception, Open House. View Apparatus and equipment.
1000 - Blessing of the apparatus and company. (Any Department wishing their apparatus blessed is welcome). Presentation of Minisink Hose Company, recognize Past Chiefs. Officials are welcome to speak at this time.
1115 - Process to Minisink Town Hall, Roy Smith Drive (Off Waterloo Rd.). The procession will be led by antique fire apparatus of Minisink Hose and will include apparatus from Johnson Fire Department, the other Town Fire Department. Departments with antique apparatus are invited to display them.
1130 - Open House:
*The Town Museum will be open with displays of fire memorabilia, antique fire apparatus, and fire prevention materials.
*Demonstrations of capabilities: Auto extrication, tanker operations, hose laying and meet our new dummy Fred. See what it feels like to move 165 pounds.
*Kids and adult bucket brigade; see how they fought fires 120 years ago.
*Refreshments are available.
